THIS IS THE KIND OF DEVELOPMENT I LIKE TO SEE

I love his response about how he’s more informed now.

“Now I’m in a higher grade, I read more books, and get more information about stuff.” This is literally all we’re asking of the bigots, but they’re apparently incapable of the development a seven year old is.

When I saw the episode where Lucas turned all this around I just remember almost tearing up from pride, for this little boy I’ve never even met, because thanks to the Kids React videos, we’ve all seen him grow and evolve his views. He’s just a kid and he’s already got it. And he’ll continue to learn and grow and it’s so great to see–this is the kind of thing you need to look for when you lose hope in humanity.

People won’t always get it. They won’t always understand. And sometimes it really isn’t their fault, it’s just all they know so far. And sometimes all of what they know is awful, or just incorrect.

And sometimes people won’t change.

But sometimes they will. And it’s a beautiful thing.
